Katie Lyn’s Guarded Heart Book #4 The Sweethearts of Country Music coming Sept 27 from Sweet Promise Press

When six musicians come together to form an all-girl country band, The Sweethearts of Country Music are born. But can they balance their musical worlds with their personal lives?

Lead singer, Katie Lyn Bishop, is ready for her first holiday in her new home in Nashville and she can’t wait to spend it with her three-year-old daughter, Madison. Unfortunately, her ex-husband, Trevor shows up after a four-year absence, suing for custody of their daughter, not to mention a hefty chunk of Katie Lyn’s profits.

The band’s attorney, Alec O’Donnell, assures her that’s not going to happen. But Alec’s interest is more than professional. He and Katie Lyn have a past—and there are skeletons in his closet that are best left in the dark. As he goes to battle against her ex, he worries his personal feelings will interfere with protecting her in court—and that if she finds out the truth, it could ruin everything.

Swirling rumors have the media targeting Katie Lyn wanting answers. Can Alec protect her? Will the secrets destroy not only her relationship with Alec, but the entire safety nest she’s built for her and Madison? Or is Alec exactly what she needs to truly make her new house a home?

The Sweethearts of Country Music series includes six books by six different authors. Each novel features a member of the band as she struggles to balance music and love.

Welcome to Lover’s Landing

This February, we invite you to visit Lover’s Landing in the (almost) famous Love, GA.

Follow eight standalone novellas that center around a coffee shop in town called Lover’s Landing.
The owners, Harold and Betty Connelly, have been caring for the townspeople like their own children for years. But watch out: rumor has it they put a love potion in their coffee. What else could be responsible for all the romance that seems to happen there?
Grab any of the eight novellas and work your way through them all. Meet our couples, fall in love, and get ready to wish you, too, could travel to our new favorite little town…
Welcome to Love, Georgia.

In the game of love, there are winners and losers—especially for those that play for keeps.

Two peas in a pod…

Bethany and Cody have been best friends since kindergarten. They grew up in the small town of Love Georgia, and there were rumors that they were more than just friends. Cody didn’t mind the town gossip, because secretly it was true. He was in love with his best friend. Unfortunately, it was a secret he chose to keep to himself, after Bethany accepted a scholarship and moved to California.

Long distance friendship…

Living on separate coasts didn’t keep the two friends from staying in touch. Bethany could always count on Cody to be there for her and give her support and advice. As the years passed, Bethany began to realize just how much she missed her family and friends, especially her best friend, Cody. Through messages, phone calls and occasional visits, Bethany starts to wonder if her feelings for Cody run much deeper than friendship.

Reunited once again…

Bethany returns to her hometown, after accepting a teaching job at Love Elementary School. Now that the two friends are reunited, they have the perfect opportunity to admit their true feelings for each other. Unfortunately for Cody, timing is everything. When Bethany starts dating her high school crush and his good friend, Austin Newberry, he realizes he may be losing his chance. Will Cody be willing to let Bethany go without a fight once again? Or will fighting, for the girl of his dreams, cost him both of his friends?

Release Day!!!

It’s Live. Happy Veteran’s Day. I hope you enjoy my new book in the Holiday Love Series. I loved writing Olivia and Tom’s story. I dedicated this book to my Dad who just passed away a few weeks ago. I was happy he got to see me become a published author. He was my first hero.

http://a.co/d/2AGLAFW

Welcome to the fairy tale …
Olivia Kennedy was living the life she had always dreamed of. She had a lovely home in California that she shared with her adoring and successful husband and their two-year-old son. She couldn’t be happier until the night fate intervened and crushed her fairy tale. A widow for over three years now, she is finding it hard to stay in the town where she has no husband, no job, no family, and no future. When an opportunity opens up, she realizes she must let go of fairy tales and face her reality.
Welcome to Clover, Alabama …
Starting over in the town she swore she would never return to, Olivia and her son Mason become Clover’s latest residents. As the new librarian, she hopes she can keep busy to fill the void of losing her husband while raising her son closer to her supportive family. She is touched by how the town she once detested, now welcomes her into their loving arms and accepts her and Mason as their own. Things are looking up for them, especially when a hero returns home.
Welcome to falling in love …
Olivia can’t deny her attraction to Clover’s hometown hero, Lieutenant Colonel Thomas Sullivan. The Air Force pilot is not only handsome, but his sense of excitement and adventure sparks something in her that she had never felt before. She is also touched by the quick bond that has formed between Tom and Mason. Tom has made it clear to her that she is in his target range and nothing would make him happier than having both of them in his life. Olivia, however, is unsure about taking risks. It is her duty to protect her son, as well as guard her own heart. Does she have the courage to love again and allow the hometown hero to show her that her fairy tale is far from over?

Summertime Blues is live…

The day has arrived. I hope you enjoy Tyler and Jackie’s story.  Here’s a little excerpt just for you.  ENJOY!

(Clover High School 2011)
First home game of the season. Jason Walsh and I are sitting on the bench, waiting our turn on the field as the defense plays.
“What are you doing after the game? Or should I say, who are you hooking up with after the game?” Jason laughs as he teases me, but I know damn well it’s a serious question.
“I don’t know yet.” I brush off his insult. He’s my best friend but sometimes he can be a real dick. He acts like I have a harem of girls waiting to be with me. Currently, I have been seeing Sonia Lassiter, one of the most popular girls at school. She keeps hinting about going steady and is eying my class ring and letterman’s jacket. That will never happen. Both my ring and jacket were paid by my hard-earned dollars mowing lawns all summer, and the only one wearing them will be me. Besides, if I ever decided to go steady with a girl, it wouldn’t be Sonia.
Lately, I’m not enjoying the reputation or the company I keep. I’d rather find a nice girl like Jason’s twin sister, Julie. I’ve been secretly crushing on her for a while now. Of course, I know that he would never let that happen. It’s an understood code. Don’t date your buddy’s sister.
“What do you think about Holly’s baby sister Jackie?” Jason asks me out of the blue.
Jackie Winston’s puppy dog eyes have been following me ever since we were in elementary school. We were all out trick-or-treating when she lost her group of brothers and sisters, and she was standing on the sidewalk in her Disney princess costume, crying her eyes out. I took her hand and helped her find her siblings and she called me her hero or was it Prince Charming? Doesn’t matter—after that she would stare at me and leave me little notes which I quickly threw away. She was three grades younger than me and a complete pain in my ass.
“Exactly that, she’s a baby, and besides, she’s the coach’s daughter, so you don’t stand a chance,” I quickly respond as I follow his line of sight to the cheerleaders next to us.
“She’s a freshman.” Jason reminds me.
“Exactly, and three years younger than you,” I respond back.
“I know, but she seems to have grown up a lot since we returned over summer break,” Jason says as he smiles over at her.
“Haven’t you known her since she was still in diapers?” I ask.
“Yeah, I used to call her The Brat. She used to be annoying as hell,” he jokes.
“I think she still is,” I add.
“I think she’s cute,” Jason says in all seriousness.
“Does she even have time to date? Beauty pageants, clubs, cheer, and don’t forget Coach’s daughter. He’ll have your head on a platter if he finds out you’re trying to make time with his baby girl.” I remind him, but he is in a trance as he smiles over at her. To my surprise, she is smiling back at him and sends him a little wave. Out of nowhere, I’m hit with a pang of jealously.
“See? I think she likes me,” Jason adds.
The way she keeps smiling over at him, I would have to agree.
“After we crush these jokers tonight, I’m going to ask her out.”
“Your funeral if the coach catches wind of it,” I say, just before the whistle blows, calling in the offense.
“It will be fine, parents like me, unlike you, and they don’t think I’m out there stealing girls’ virtues.” He chuckles as he slips on his helmet.
“Well, here’s your chance, Romeo. It’s showtime,” I say as the coach calls us out to the field.
That night, we win against Bonifay High 28 to 13. When I start heading to the locker rooms, I spot Jason standing alone with Jackie near the bleachers, hidden from the crowd. Before I go inside, I turn once again to look over at them. That’s when I witness their first kiss. At least, I assume it’s their first kiss. It seems the days of Jackie Winston staring at me and sending me notes are over.

My Apologies

I’m sorry for the absence on my website. It has been a tough summer on a personal note but things are looking up with some help. I have a new release coming out on August 24th Summertime Blues book six of the Holiday Love Series.  I will post a little about that today and over the next few days get you caught up on all my latest projects.

Tyler McCandless needs a break… A break from college, a break from his Dad and most of all a break from woman. Picking up the pieces of his broken heart he accepts an invite to spend the summer at his buddy’s condo in Panama City Beach. He’s young, attractive and most of all single, he should be having the time of his life. Unfortunately, he is finding he can no longer enjoy, just “hooking up” and is ready to head back to Alabama. That is until beauty queen, Jackie Winston shows up.
Tyler and Jackie have a history dating back to elementary school. She went from a little girl lost, to annoying pest, to his best friend’s girl and finally a good friend. Her smile is contagious and when he’s with her, things seem better somehow. As their friendship starts to become something more, he realizes there is a lot of pain behind her blue green eyes. Will secrets from his past destroy their relationship? Can Tyler be there for her, when she needs him the most?

Asphalt Cowboy’s Girl is Live!!!

It’s LIVE!!!  After over a year of putting this story aside, writing it, rewriting it and ready to throw it in the trash bin, I finally published it. Sometimes you have an idea for a story but as you are writing it, you lose focus or the story is just not going where you would like it to. This is how this story was for me.

As I was between books in the Holiday Love Series, I would see the word document and something kept nagging me to revisit it. I kept at, changed the story (a little bit) and now I’m ready to release it. I hope you enjoy Luke and Aimee Jo’s story and as one of my ARC readers suggested, there may be more to come…

On the highway, bad things can happen …
Aimee Jo Elliot isn’t having a good day. Her long anticipated journey to California is cut short when her car is stolen. Stranded at a truck stop in Alabama, with no car, no money, and most of all, no hope, she’s desperate to get back on the road. California holds the answer to her dreams and an escape from the danger she’s left behind in Georgia. Accepting a ride from the sexy truck driver has its own set of risks, but she never considered it would be to her heart.

The life of an asphalt cowboy …
Luke McIntyre has life all figured out. He owns his own rig, makes his own rules, and only answers to himself. The solitude of life on the road suits him just fine. Not one for permanent relationships, he has no problems picking up temporary lovers. And he always makes sure they know the score—hot sex, respect, but no strings. His quiet life is shot to hell, however, when he offers the Georgia beauty a ride. He soon discovers that rules are made to be broken.

In for the long haul …
Luke and Aimee Jo soon realize their simple four-day journey is anything but simple. An instant attraction sidetracks their well-made plans and dreams. When they reach California, decisions must be made. Will they go their separate ways, or journey on together?

Cover Reveal Day!

I’m so excited to show off my cover for my next release Asphalt Cowboy’s Girl.  The cover was designed by the very talented Tiffany Black of T.E Black Designs.

Release Day will be May 15 and I will have a preorder set up. This book is very special to me because my husband is a truck driver. I remember the lonely days and nights where he would be gone for weeks and sometimes a month. You worry for their safety everyday. That’s where the idea of this story came from.

I hope you will enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it. Luke McIntyre is my favorite book boyfriend so far, (sorry Ben) and I have plans for more to come with my Asphalt Cowboy and his girl.
